Summary at a glance

Bearable's free tier covers the tracking itself: unlimited custom symptoms, moods, factors and meds, weekly reports, a correlation graph, and the last 30 days of history.

Premium costs $34.99 a year or $6.99 a month, is frequently discounted to $18.99 a year, and comes with a 7-day free trial.

What Premium really buys is history and analysis: full insights and statistics reports, unlimited Goals, custom Experiments, and every day older than 30 days.

The loudest complaint is paying to read data you entered yourself. Users on r/ChronicIllness say they left over it, and the ask for a one-time purchase runs from 2021 into February 2026.

Bearable Heroes gives Premium free to people who cannot afford it, which is the route to try before cancelling over price.

This comparison aggregates publicly available user reviews and Bearable's own pricing page. It is not first-hand testing of Premium, and it is not medical advice. Prices change, so check the app before you subscribe.

Should You Pay for Bearable Premium?

Stay free if you want to log symptoms and read back the last 30 days. Pay if you want the full insights and statistics reports, unlimited Goals, custom Experiments and your whole history. Premium is $34.99/yr or $6.99/mo, and Bearable frequently discounts the year to $18.99 bearable.app.

The free tier is more complete than most rivals. You track unlimited custom symptoms, moods, factors and meds. You get weekly reports and a correlation graph that shows what lines up with what.

The catch is history.

Anything older than 30 days stops being readable in the app, and the deeper statistics built on it stay locked. That is the line users argue over.

Standard Premium is $34.99 a year. Bearable frequently discounts it to $18.99 a year, so check the in-app price before you take the $6.99 monthly plan.

Premium, at the discounted $18.99 a year

The free tier already covers unlimited tracking, weekly reports and a correlation graph. Premium buys the full statistics reports, Goals, Experiments and every day of history older than 30 days. Daily loggers say that analysis layer is the whole point of the app. Occasional loggers get very little back from it.

What Does the Bearable Free Version Include?

Free covers the tracking itself: unlimited custom symptoms, moods, factors and meds, weekly reports, a correlation graph, and the last 30 days of history. Nothing caps how many things you log.

Reviewers keep singling that out. One Google Play reviewer wrote "many of the other apps had the majority of stuff lock behind paywalls before you could even get anywhere. This has so much available before you even get into the subscription part of the options." play.google.com

Data export is free too, and it has not always been.

ChoosingTherapy rates the app 4.5 out of 5 in a 2024 review, and discloses affiliate commission. It ends on the free version: "If you are looking for a really detail-rich and dynamic tracking app, I cannot recommend the free version of Bearable more." choosingtherapy.com

What Does Bearable Premium Add?

Premium unlocks the analysis layer: full insights and statistics reports, unlimited Goals, custom Experiments, unrestricted history, a passcode lock and extra notes.

Two of those carry most of the value. Unrestricted history is what lets you look past the 30-day window. The full reports turn months of check-ins into something you can read in a minute.

Experiments are the other draw. You set up a change, run it for a while, and the app reports what moved with it.

The rest is smaller. A passcode lock matters if other people use your phone. Extra notes matter if you write a lot alongside each entry.

Export used to sit inside Premium. The founder moved it out after free users pushed back on Reddit in 2020, so sending your data to a doctor costs nothing.

Bearable Heroes

Sponsorship program giving Premium to people who cannot afford it

What Does Bearable Premium Cost?

Premium is $34.99 a year or $6.99 a month. Bearable frequently discounts the annual plan to $18.99, and a 7-day free trial comes with either plan.

There is a third route that is easy to miss.

Bearable Heroes is a sponsorship program that gives Premium to people who cannot afford it, at no cost.

The trial is the part to watch. In a 2022 comment on r/BearableApp, one user called the card-on-file trial "sketchy" and added "There isn't even an option for monthly" reddit.com. A monthly plan exists now, so half of that complaint has been answered.

Set a reminder for day six of the trial. Start it on the annual plan, forget to cancel, and you are billed for a full year in one go.

What Do Users Say About the Bearable Paywall?

The money argument splits the community, and it splits it hard.

One side calls the free tier generous. The other says you end up paying to read data you typed in yourself. In a 2024 r/ChronicIllness thread, one user wrote: "I had a good experience with it until they wanted me to pay to see the data I recorded and then I peaced out and went elsewhere." reddit.com The same person went to Guava Health, whose base tier hands back your own data.

The fixed-income objection is older and steadier. In a 2021 thread, a premium user wrote that "the sickest people who need it the most will have the least money and hiding the most useful features behind a paywall seems a little predatory to me" reddit.com.

It has not gone away. A February 2026 comment in that same thread says the app "opened my eyes to a lot of things about my body", then ends "to have it be behind a pay wall I can't afford to get passed sucks ass" reddit.com.

The founder answered both complaints in that 2021 thread. On the free tier: "that’s why we made most of the app free. Pretty much the whole actual tracking aspect is free, unlimited entries and fully customisable." On the recurring lifetime request: "Buy once might be a great option for users in the short term, but it’s not sustainable." The founder said then that a lifetime option was under consideration. Users were still asking for one in February 2026 reddit.com.

Should You Stay Free or Upgrade to Bearable Premium?

Stay free if you are trying the app out or tracking one or two things. Stay free too if a month of history is all you ever look back on.

Upgrade if you log every day and want the statistics. The people who stick with it point at the correlations. One daily premium user wrote in 2024: "Bearable is the only reason I figured out that Excedrin constipates the hell out of me." Skip it if you already know you will not log daily, because the same thread carries the other outcome: "I was only consistent for about 2 months which makes it basically useless for me" reddit.com.

If the price is the only blocker, look at Bearable Heroes before you cancel.

How We Researched This

We have not paid for Bearable Premium and we have not used the app first-hand. Tier names, prices and features come from Bearable's own pricing page. Everything about how the paywall feels comes from users.

We read the US App Store listing, which sits at 4.8 out of 5 across 5.9K ratings, and captured 10 full review texts, five-star and critical apps.apple.com. We read the Google Play listing, 4.6 out of 5 across roughly 10,100 reviews and 500,000+ downloads play.google.com. We read two published reviews by writers who used the app, one from 2024 and one from 2021. We also read six Reddit threads in full, comments and dates included, across r/ChronicIllness and r/BearableApp.

Those threads run from 2020 to a February 2026 comment, and every quote above is dated to the year it was written.

Bearable has no Trustpilot page. We checked, and the address returns a 404. That is normal for an app that sends reviewers to the app stores.

Prices were last checked against Bearable's pricing page in July 2026. Check the price in the app before you subscribe.
